# Update Account Details

> Edit your profile info, billing details, security settings, and preferences.

This guide shows how to update details on **your own Linkpod account** from the dashboard.

  <Step title="Open your Account settings">
    1. Sign in to your Linkpod dashboard.
    2. Open **Account**.

      Linkpod may show account pages in a header menu (for example: **Account**, **Account Preferences**, and more).

  <Step title="Update your profile details">
    On the **Account** page you can update:

    * **Name**
    * **Email address**
    * **Timezone**
    * **Anti‑phishing code** (a short code shown in emails sent to you, so you can verify they’re legitimate)
    * **Newsletter subscription** (only shown if enabled)
    * **Referral key** (only shown if the referrals/affiliate feature is enabled)

    Select **Update** to save.

    <Note>
      If you change your email address, Linkpod may require email confirmation before the new address becomes active. In that case, check your **new** email inbox for a confirmation link.

  <Step title="Update billing details (if available)">
    If billing is enabled, a **Billing** section appears on the same **Account** page.

    You can update:

    * **Billing type**: Personal or Business
    * **Billing name**
    * **Address**
    * **City**
    * **County**
    * **ZIP / Postal code**
    * **Country**
    * **Phone**
    * **Tax/VAT ID** (only when using Business billing type)
    * **Billing notes**

    <Note>
      If you have an active subscription, billing fields can be locked (read‑only).

  <Step title="Turn two‑factor authentication (2FA) on or off">
    On the **Account** page, find the **Two‑factor authentication** section:

    * To **enable 2FA**, set **Enabled** to **Yes**.
    * To **disable 2FA**, set **Enabled** to **No**.

    When enabling 2FA for the first time, Linkpod shows a QR code and a secret:

    1. Scan the QR code with an authenticator app.
    2. Enter the **6‑digit code** from your authenticator app in the **Verify** field.
    3. Select **Update** to save.

    <Note>
      If 2FA is already enabled on your account, you won’t be prompted to scan a new QR code.

  <Step title="Change your password">
    On the **Account** page, use the **Change password** section:

    1. Enter your **current password**.
    2. Enter your **new password**.
    3. Re-enter the new password to confirm.
    4. Select **Update**.

    <Warning>
      After a successful password change, you’ll be signed out and asked to sign in again with the new password.

## Update account preferences (optional)

Linkpod also includes an **Account Preferences** page. You can open it from the account header menu as **Account Preferences**.

Depending on which features are enabled on your plan, you may see options like:

* **White labeling** (if enabled):
  * White label title
  * Upload a light logo, dark logo, and favicon
* **OpenAI API key** (if the related AI features are enabled):
  * Add your personal OpenAI API key (required or optional depending on your plan)
* **Default settings**:
  * Default results per page
  * Default sort direction (ascending/descending)
  * Default sorting for different areas (for example Links, QR codes, Projects, Pixels, Domains, Splash pages, Data)
* **Tracking settings**:
  * **Excluded IPs** (comma-separated list)

Select **Update** on the Account Preferences page to save your changes.

  Some preference sections only appear when the related feature is enabled and available on your plan.
